Experience & Accreditations
On the finance side, Pinelopi acts for shipowners and leading international banks, drafting and/or commenting on loan documentation, innovative finance transactions and restructurings/workouts. She has obtained substantial experience dealing, both on behalf of the owners and the financing bank, with syndicated, bilateral, subordination arrangements involving bareboat charters, guarantee facilities and other types of secured facilities relating to second-hand vessels, newbuildings, resales, fleet acquisitions and leases. She also acts for shipowners in relation to (amongst others) drafting and negotiating shareholders’ agreements, MOAs, novation agreements, shipbuilding contracts and refund guarantees, dealing with various ship purchase/sale transactions involving various jurisdictions, setting up offshore companies, dealing with vessels’ registration under various flags and assisting several shipowners with their corporate affairs.
Pinelopi has over 20 years of experience working for international law firms in Piraeus and has, prior to that, worked in London and in New York. Her clients note that "Pinelopi is effective and commercial, reliable and to the point and fun to work with".
Memberships & Associations
Pinelopi is a fully qualified Greek lawyer (Dikigoros), registered with the Athens Bar Association since 2005 and appointed as a lawyer at the Court of Appeals in Athens. She has also been enrolled as a Solicitor with the Law Society of England and Wales since 2006.
