We are thrilled to announce that David Morriss has joined the partnership of LCI Law, based in London.
David has a wealth of experience practicing Shipping, Dispute Resolution and Trade (commodities) for 24 years at the London office of a well-known international law firm, where he was a partner for the last 13 years. He will continue to run that practice at LCI Law.
David handles all manners of disputes under charterparties, vessel pooling agreements, contracts of affreightment, bills of lading, shipbuilding and repair contracts, sale and purchase (MOA) contracts, insurance policies, and cargo sale/purchase contracts. David has also handled broader commercial disputes in areas such as mining, banking, and Formula 1 sponsorship, in addition to which he regularly assists clients with non-contentious contract-drafting.
David has run arbitrations in London (LMAA and LCIA in particular) and in Singapore (SIAC in particular) and has also advised the Gujarat Maritime Board in India in the drafting of their own arbitration rules. He also regularly appears before the courts of England and Wales, and a number of his cases have resulted in well-known reported decisions by the High Court and the Court of Appeal.
A large number of David’s clients are companies based in India, Dubai, and the UK. He regularly travels to India and Dubai to see his clients and to give papers at conferences.
